Read more ›Most of the people we work for are buying their first new-construction home, and a good number of them are buying it from another state. They are handed a schedule, a set of plan selections and a series of walkthroughs, and at no point does anyone tell them what a normal house looks like halfway through being built.
That is a hard position to be in. Without a reference point, every crack looks serious and every delay looks like a problem, or else nothing looks like a problem at all until the drywall is up and the question is no longer easy to answer. Buyers end up guessing about which items are worth raising and which ones are simply how a house gets built in the Central Florida region.
These pages are the reference point. They show what a finished report looks like before you pay for one, what we look at during each of the four stages, and what routinely turns up at each of them. Read them and you will walk your site with a better idea of what you are looking at, which makes the conversations with your construction manager shorter and more useful.
Nothing here is gated. If it helps you build a better house with a builder you like, that is a good outcome for everybody.
